Widodo Pranowo led a hydro-oceanographic survey team called “Indonesian Wallacea Expedition (EWI)” 2005 in Raja Ampat waters, with the theme “Coral Reef Large Ecosystem in the Radja Ampat coastal waters, Papua”. The research members of the marine survey team are Hari Prihatno (marine instrumentation expert), and Andreas Albertino Hutahaean (marine ecologist-biologist). This expedition is a collaboration between the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and MetroTV.
The expedition was recorded as a documentary and was first broadcast on the MetroTV program EXPEDITION on Sunday, February 27, 2005 on METRO TV. The story of the expedition was broadcast as a special edition news travel journal in Media Indonesia. The MetroTV team covering the expedition was Edy Prasetyo (Producer and Underwater Cameraman), Willy Amrul (Reporter and Land Cameraman), and Raira Okawa (Assistant reporter and post-production). Meanwhile, Media Indonesia journalists are Aris Wicaksena, Adam Dwi Putra, and assisted by Michel Sjukrie Odydive (a PADI instructor and an underwater photography expert) for underwater photography.
